Started from the bottom. Drake invests in esports betting startup
Canadian rapper and producer Drake has been named among investors in esports betting startup Players’ Lounge
News of Drake’s involvement came as the company announced that it had raised US$3 million following a seed funding round. Drake is a huge fan of Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins gameplay and Fortnite in general, so he believes that his name can make the difference in promo campaign of the new startup.
Players’ Lounge primarily runs low-stakes competitions with players on consoles and PC games. The startup says it hosts 350 million players over the age of 18, who earn millions of dollars each month. Huge numbers.
Players’ Lounge (founded in 2014 by Zach Dixon and Austin Woolridge) is all about casual, amateur players rather than acting as a tournament platform for professional and semi-professional gamers.
