Man City reportedly find unexpected successor to Sergio Aguero in Danny Ings
Manchester City have identified Southampton striker Danny Ings as a potential replacement for Sergio Aguero, according to Sky Sports.
Aguero is out of contract in June and it looks like he won't be extending his current deal anytime soon. Hence, the Cityzens are expected to sign a successor to the club's all-time best goalscorer this summer.
Even though Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland is believed to be among City's top priorities for the forthcoming transfer window, the Norwegian's £100m valuation could be the biggest obstacle to his move to the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season.
Thus, the Cityzens have turned their attention to Ings who is seen as a "more attainable option".
The Englishman has netted 42 goals in 92 appearances for the Saints, including nine strikes in 25 outings this season, since joining the club from Liverpool in 2019.
