"I wouldn't be surprised if Tottenham won it after Chelsea's hard work on Sunday". Best predictions on EPL from Sky Sports's expert
Ahead of an important midweek of Premier League action, Paul Merson gives his verdict on the 6 games.
Merse is tipping wins for Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City, but can see Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Manchester United slipping up in the capital at Crystal Palace on Wednesday night.
Tuesday
Leicester vs Brighton
You talk about teams getting dragged into it, Brighton are one of those on a glass mountain with a pair of moccasin slippers on. They're sliding quick.
I'm going for Leicester, I think we'll see a reaction from them. I don't think they were keen on the manager, from a distance it looked that way.
I thought it was only a matter of time for Claude Puel. If you lose that many home games on the trot, surely it's only a matter of time.
Paul's prediction: 2:1
Wednesday
Arsenal vs Bournemouth
Arsenal are flat-track bullies, aren't they? They finish these teams off. With Bournemouth's injuries, I can only see an Arsenal win. This would be another great result in the top-four race.
One point ahead of United, I'm still not sure I see Arsenal getting Champions League. They've got a bad result in them. They will be caught up in the end.
Paul's prediction: 3:1
Chelsea vs Tottenham
Well, the pressure is off Tottenham now so they'll be like the Harlem Globetrotters again. I don't know what it is, but there's something about them, where they get into a position to make things happen, and it doesn't happen!
This is not a fluke, this is quite worrying now if you're a Tottenham fan. At half-time against Wolves in December, if you're a Spurs fan you're thinking: 'We are right in this title race.' 1-0 at half-time and cruising. They then get well beat.
People were telling me: 'They're tired, they're jaded,' but they were 3-0 up against Cardiff in 26 minutes three days later. They then claw themselves back into the title race, go to Burnley knowing a win puts real pressure on, and they never look like winning it.
I'll go for a draw, but I wouldn't be surprised if Tottenham won it after Chelsea's hard work on Sunday.
Paul's prediction: 2:2
Crystal Palace vs Manchester United
United have got a lot of injures, Palace had a great result at Leicester... I'm going for Palace in this one! All of a sudden, I think United will be four points behind the top four.
I want to go for United, but they've got too many injuries to too many key players. They've come at the wrong time for United.
Paul's prediction: 2:1
Liverpool vs Watford
This is a dangerous game for Liverpool; the pressure is on, and they have to win. Watford have just come off a 5-1 win, Liverpool have just come out of a hard week and Roberto Firmino is injured.
I'm tipping Liverpool to win it, just, but I would not be shocked one iota if Watford got something from this game. I can't explain what an unbelievable banana skin this is.
If Watford had been beaten by Cardiff, this would be a walk in the park for Liverpool, but all of a sudden Watford are turning up there and thinking they've got nothing to lose. They'll have a go.
Paul's prediction: 2:1
Manchester City vs West Ham
If you can drag a game on for as long as possible, Manchester City are not the same team. When they get 1-0 and 2-0 up in the first 15, 20 minutes, you might as well go home. They all want the ball.
But as it drags on, they get a bit nervous, not many want the ball and it gets a bit iffy. But I can't see West Ham stopping them from scoring in the first half.
Paul's prediction: 3:0
