Jose Mourinho seems to be a little twitchy this pre-season as results don't go his way, he fails to land some of his primary transfer targets and make serious progress in the transfer market. The bookmakers seem to agree the pressure may be piling onto the Manchester United manager ahead of the season’s curtain raiser in two weeks time and his odds to be the first Premier League manager to leave his post have been slashed.

SkyBet have him at the shortest price, just 7/1, which makes him the joint-favourite on their site to leave first, along with Leicester boss Claude Puel. He was a much larger price of 14/1 at the start of the week, meaning that there has been some serious movement from the punters and their views on the Portuguese manager.

Elsewhere, he can be backed at longer odds although these prices have still been cut this week. With Ladbrokes and Coral he was a sizeable 20/1 at the start of the week but has now been backed into 14/1 with both bookmakers. Bookies will not want to give too much away ahead of the new season and are clearly erring on the side of caution when it comes to Mourinho’s future.

The biggest price cut comes from two of the lesser know bookmaker in Unibet and 888sport who have both cut the odds of Jose Mourinho to be the first manager to leave his post from 40/1 into 16/1. These odds could further tumble if the former Real Madrid boss does not secure some decent transfers before their season kicks off against Leicester.
