Wijnadlum destined to join Barcelona? Conflicting reports emerge as midfielder's contract with Liverpool expires in summer
According to The Times' Duncan Castles, Georginio Wijnaldum has decided to leave Liverpool for Barcelona in the summer. The Dutchman has agreed a pre-contract deal with the Catalans, the journalist adds. The 30-year-old, who will be a free agent in the summer, is believed to be a priority target for Ronald Koeman.
However, reliable Cadena SER's journalist Adria Albets denies any agreement between Barcelona and Wijnaldum is struck as he refers to his sources within the club.
Speculation about the future of the Dutch international has been circulating for about a year now. The midfielder reportedly wants a substantial upgrade on his salary while Liverpool are not eager to meet his demands.
