Manchester City’s hopes of an unprecedented quadruple may have come to a shock end at Wigan in mid-February, but they are still going strong in the rest of their competitions. Last weekend they put in an efficient performance against a dour Arsenal side to win 3-0 and lift the League Cup, and they followed that with an identical scoreline at The Emirates in the Premier League on Thursday.

Now they face their third big test of this period with a hosting of Chelsea, before they host Basel in the Champions League next week. With The Citizens being 4-0 up from the first leg we’re expecting them to field a weakened team on Wednesday, which means that nobody should need to be rested on Sunday.

Admitteldy Manchester City aren’t looking quite as unstoppable as they were earlier in the season at the moment, but their recent failures have all come on the road. Back at The Etihad they look stronger than ever, with a 5-1 thrashing of Leicester in February making it 13 wins on the bounce in the Premier League and maintaining their unbeaten record there this season. In fact, their last defeat came 15 months ago, against none other than Chelsea.

The Blues aren’t expected to end that run on Sunday though. They lost to Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend, despite a rather poor performance from The Red Devils. That is a major warning sign, and given the quality difference between the two Manchester clubs at the moment, not many travelling fans will be holding their breath.

Chelsea have actually lost three of their last four in the league as well, and away from home they have only won two of their last eight. This leaves them two points outside the top four, so they really could do with turning this around soon.

Despite the contrast in recent form between these two sides the odds for a home win are still relatively favourable. We’re backing a Manchester City win here, and considering they have conceded in seven of their last nine at home and Chelsea have scored in all but two of their away games this season, we’re also going for a Manchester City Win and Both Teams to Score alongside a 3-1 correct score predictions.

Sergio Aguero is the man to watch on the goalscoring front. He has scored 15 of his 21 league goals at The Etihad this season and has a ridiculous 11 in his last five home league games. He has also scored four goals in his last five appearances against Chelsea, so these odds look very good value for money.
