Gladbach on fire, they are second, a lot of heads. It is good to see. They are at their best.
Key to their success has been the form of attacking trio Thorgan Hazard, Alassane Plea and captain Lars Stindl. Brazilian forward Raffael adds to that attacking threat after returning from a spell sidelined, though he’d be hard-pressed to break up the in-form front line, who have scored seven of Gladbach’s last ten goals.
Leipzig will be a tough place for the visitors to travel to though. Leipzig were unbeaten in ten league matches (W6 D4) before last weekend’s 1-0 defeat in Wolfsburg. Leipzig have one of the best home records in the league, unbeaten at the Red Bull Arena this season (W4 D2), keeping clean sheets in four of these, but it is hard to ignore Gladbach’s scoring numbers. Dieter Hecking’s men have scored three goals or more in 6 of their last 8 Bundesliga outings, and they’ve only failed to score two goals or more in 2 of their 12 league games this season too. Given that Leipzig have actually failed to score in three of their last five in the league, you can probably start to see why I feel that backing Gladbach is the way to go win.
