Middlesbrough have only lost one of their last eight league games as they push for a play-off position in the Championship. They start the weekend seven points behind the two automatic promotion places but with a game in hand. It's tight behind them though and they can't afford a slip-up in this game at home to struggling QPR. Only one of their last three league games have been won and at home, they have a win, a defeat and three draws in their last five home league games.
QPR would probably be happy with a draw because they have lost their last six league games. Tuesday saw them come from behind twice at home to WBA before conceding an injury-time winner by the visitors. They are 18th in the table, ten points above the bottom three with a game in hand but they need to be getting some points on the table to allay relegation fears. After this game they face Leeds United and then Brentford away so their run without a win might go on a little bit longer. Go for Middlesbrough to get the home win here.
