Having won the reverse fixture by a goal to nil last week, Getafe continued to move in the right direction when they delivered a smash and grab performance away at Estadio de la Cerámica on Saturday evening, beating Villarreal by two goals to one. Valladolid also secured a pleasing result at the weekend, so they may fancy themselves to get the desired result here.
If Valladolid are to turn things around on Tuesday evening, then they’ll need to do much better than they did at Coliseum Alfonso Pérez last week. The score-line on that occasion suggested that it was a tight game, though Pucela failed to compete, as they mustered just two shots.
Now back on their own patch, Sergio’s men may be hopeful of doing better, though it’s not like they go into this game with excellent home form to draw upon. Valladolid have won just twice at home during the current La Liga campaign, while they’re now without a win in five in front of their own fans.
Neither Valladolid nor Getafe are that creative, though the visitors aren’t likely to be too bothered about that. Getafe will go to Estadio José Zorrilla knowing that a clean sheet gets them through.
