As expected, Apollon recorded a 2-0 win over Kauno Zalgiris in the first leg of the Europa League first qualifying round. The Cypriotes’ job is all but done, but we are positive that they will go for a win in the return leg at Neo GSP. Apollon did well to beat star-studded Serie A side Lazio in their last home game in the national championship, which is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of Kauno Zalgiris.
The Lithuanian outfit, on the other hand, face an uphill task in Thursday’s football match and seeing that they failed to impress in the first leg, we do not believe that the Greens are capable of spoiling the home side’s party at Neo GSP. A man to watch in Sofronis Avgousti’s team will be Argentine midfielder Zelaya, who found the net in the first leg.
