After recording a hard-fought 1-0 win over Petrocub at home in the first leg of the Europa League first qualifying round, AEK Larnaca will be looking to cement their spot in round 2 with yet another victory over the Moldavian side. The Cypriotes played below expectations in the first leg, but seeing that they managed to keep a clean sheet in the AEK Arena – George Karapatakis clash, the underdogs need a big win in the return leg if they are to advance to the next qualifying round.
Considering that the hosts need to adopt an attack-minded approach in Thursday’s football match, AEK Larnaca should have a number of opportunities to score on the break in the return leg, therefore, we are tempted to put our money on Imanol Idiakez’s charges. Hector Hevel scored the winner in the first leg, meaning that the opposition defenders should have him at bay.
