Heading to this game, Bolivia haven’t managed a lot of wins; in their last 20 matches, they have three wins, and only one of the wins came in competitive action. They have no clean sheet in their last 16 matches and in 12 of the last 14, they’ve conceded two or more goals. The visitors have however scored in each of their last six matches, and only failed in two of the last 10. In their last three World Cup qualification matches, they’ve scored two or more. Away from home, they’ve been very poor in the World Cup qualifiers, failing to win any of their last 46.
Israel missed out on a place at the Euros after losing to Scotland in the playoffs and go here only preparing for the World Cup qualifiers coming in September. They are coming from a 3-1 win over Montenegro, having earlier beaten Moldova 4-1. Against Portugal it will be a tougher affair, and we don’t expect them to score as many. Israel have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last four matches while they have just two in their last 18 matches. The three wins they have managed in the last five matches have been against weaker opponents than Portugal and to carry on with that, they’ll have to put in more.
Bolivia are seeking back to back wins after registering their first in these qualifiers when they beat Venezuela in the fifth round. They have now gone unbeaten in two matches after losing each of their opening three in the qualifiers but before beating Venezuela, they had suffered back to back losses in friendly matches. Among those friendly matches was Chile, who claimed a 2-1 win back in March, before Bolivia fell by the same margin in a friendly with Ecuador.
It looks to me that Chile will most probably fashion enough chances to find the net more than once while possibly not conceding when they line up against Bolivia, who could well struggle to get a goal of their own.
I am therefore think that it’s going to be a decent 2-0 win for Chile when the full-time whistle blow.
Chile play host to Bolivia at their Estadio San Carlos de Apoquindo in what is expected to be a lively contest. La Roja did well to hold Argentina to a draw in their last group game, with the team keeping their qualifying hopes alive. Chile will not have a better chance than this to return to winning ways, and we are positive that they will go all guns blazing at La Verde.
