A spot in the EFL Cup quarter-finals will be at stake when Aston Villa and Stoke City face each other at Villa Park.
The Villans have defeated the likes of Burton (3-1) and Bristol City (3-0) on their way to the last 16, but they do not want to stop now. Even though the likes of Wesley, Heaton, and Engels are sidelined with injury, we are tempted to put our money on the hosts, who have been in a fine form at the start of the season.
The Potters, on the other hand, aim to build on the Championship win over Preston. Stoke City set up a meeting with Villa by beating Wolverhampton and Gillingham, but we do not believe that they are capable of claiming yet another major scalp.
Joe Allen and Ryan Shawcross remain in the recovery room for the visitors
😎The Potters have yet to concede an away goal this season, however, having conceded a sizeable 33 attempts in the three matches they have contested on the road so far, they have had luck on their side.😱
Villa have the tools and momentum to finish the opportunities they create this week, and having kept clean sheets in each of their last three outings, a combination of factors makes a 2-0 home win a correct score prediction worth backing.
