A firestorm of three goals inside the first 15 minutes set Switzerland on their way to a World Cup qualification (WCQ) victory against Bulgaria in midweek. Clearly not ones to hold back when comfortable pre-match favourites, the Swiss have - if excluding November’s walkover against Ukraine - seen seven of their last eight international goals come prior to the 30th minute.
Switzerland should have no trouble in maintaining their unbeaten record in competitive home internationals since September 2014 (W14, D4 – excluding walkovers). That sequence even includes wins over top-five ranked Belgium and Portugal, while there’s not been a goalless second half in any of their last 12 home matches (W7, D3, L2 – excluding walkovers).
