Manchester United will enter the clash in much higher spirits after beating bitter city rivals Manchester City 0-2 on Sunday. Bruno Fernandes and Luke Shaw were on target in the match that ended Pep Guardiola’s fabulous winning streak.
The team led by Ole-Gunnar Solskjaer have now kept four subsequent clean sheets across competitions. They have not conceded at all against Real Sociedad in the previous round and I can easily see them keeping things tight here against Zlatan-less Milan.
The Rossoneri still hold the second place in the Serie A standings but their form has been far from impressive recently. They failed to see off Red Star Belgrade in two Europa League matches, they fell 2-0 at Spezia, they lost the city derby against Inter Milan 0-3, and they only played a 1-1 draw to Udinese at home in between the wins over Roma and Verona.
