Recent matches have given the Cardiff City Stadium faithful reason to be cautiously optimistic too. They have beaten both Brighton and Fulham at home recently, and their 1-0 defeats to Leicester and Everton in November were far from disastrous performances.
Wolves’ fans won’t be particularly fearful of relegation this season, although the last 2 months have given them cause for concern after an excellent start to life in the Premier League. They opened the season with just 1 defeat from their first 8 league games and even managed to take points off both Manchester clubs, but ever since a 2-0 loss at home to Watford the wheels have begun to shake.
Wolves have only won 2 of their 6 away games in the league this season and have scored just 4 goals in the process. Cardiff, meanwhile, have won 2 of their last 3 home games in the Premier League and have avoided defeat in 3 of their 7 total games.
Perhaps Cardiff could be closer to victory. But Wolves at a party look more collected. They have only 2 losses in a season, and Cardiff has only two wins in his stadium.
My tip - draw
I should be going for Wolves, but they have disappointed me lately. I don't see them going down, but it looked like they would have a really good season at one stage and now it's fizzling out a little bit. They're a bag of Revels, you just don't know what you're going to get.
One week they go to Arsenal and look a top team and then get beaten by Huddersfield, which was a shocking result. They are on one of those slippery slopes and need to avoid another loss here.
Cardiff need to turn it into a battle. Being on a Friday suits them - there will be a good atmosphere and if they win, they get the weekend off with three points. They have to win their home games because they won't get much on the road, but I think this will be close.
