The visitors have conceded 67% of their goals so far in away matches, while Villa have scored 60% of their goals at home. The hosts have seen both teams score in a huge 73% of their home games, while these two lead the way in terms of consistency in front of goal. They’ve each scored in 95% of their matches, with Villa scoring in every home clash, and Leeds every away trip. Villa have scored at least twice in their last seven matches, while their last six games have all seen at least three goals scored.
This is a hard game for both sides. Everton are a team that never seem to get over the line and are in a bit of a bad patch at the moment. They won't have to take the game to Tottenham; they seem to fall short in games where they're expected to attack, like against Newcastle and Watford at Goodison. But if the game opens up, I think this will be Tottenham's. I think their win at Arsenal is a massive confidence boost. It'll be hard but I'll go for Spurs.
The situation at United obviously has a knock-on effect for Tottenham, with their manager Mauricio Pochettino supposedly among the front runners to get the post permanently in the summer. If he is offered the job it will be a big temptation for him and it will be a decision that will keep him up at night. That could affect Spurs' season too of course. Right now, this trip to Merseyside is the only thing Pochettino will be focused on as they look to continue their run of good results since they lost to Arsenal at the start of December. Tottenham's recent record at Goodison Park is decent - they have not lost in any of their past five visits - but Everton's home form this season is good and I cannot see them being beaten.
Everton have obviously made strides under Marco Silva this season but are still quite vulnerable throughout their ranks as highlighted by their latest run where they are without a PL win since the back end of November and things do not look to be getting any easier for them here as they host a Spurs side who are on a fine run of form and boosted by others within the top 4 dropping points should grasp the opportunity with both hands to within 2 points off second place and back to within 6 points off top spot with victory at Goodison Park this afternoon
