Atletico Madrid are second in La Liga but seven points behind leaders Barcelona. For once their fans will be cheering on rivals Real Madrid, hoping they can win the El Clasico against the league's top side and allow their team to close to within four points. On the other hand, a win for Barcelona will give Atletico the chance to open up a five-point lead over third-placed Real. To do that though, they need to get a win at Real Sociedad who are eighth in the table. Atletico have had some struggles with their form since the winter break ended but seem to have turned the corner now. They have won their last two league games and beaten Juventus in the Champions League without conceding a goal. Away form has seen them lose only one of their last ten league games but there have been five costly draws. 12 of their last 14 away games in La Liga have had under 2.5 goals scored.
Real Sociedad are two points behind the final Europa League qualification position. Five of their last seven league games have been drawn but the majority have been on their travels. At home, Sociedad have won three of their last four home league games but the opposition has come from teams in the bottom half of the table.Three of their last five games have ended goalless and the tip here is to go for under 2.5 goals to be scored.
