Huesca has been one of the worst teams in the competition so far. They are 19th in the table as of now and needs to make up a difference of seven points, with just 12 left to play for. On top of that, they are on the road, against a team that had been fighting in the Europa League.
Villarreal won three of their last four ties and was unbeaten in eight of their last ten home ties. Meanwhile, Huesca was winless in nine of their last eleven fixtures, and in 16 of their last 17 on the road.
In addition, the team is winless against Villarreal in league ties and has never won at this venue. Also, Villarreal has never failed to score against Huesca, and in fact, scored two or more goals in the last three encounters in succession. In the meantime, Huesca failed to find the back of the net in two of the last four h2h fixtures.
Finally, Villarreal has vast experience in the top-tier of Spanish Football, and due to their European battles, are much more composed when dealing with high-pressure situations.
Expect the hosts to win this tie at any cost. They will make sure that they don’t repeat the mistakes of their past, which saw them in the bottom-most tier for much of the season. Under no circumstances will they want to go under pressure. Count on them to defend with their lives, and not concede at all.
