The club have thrown their support behind Omar de Felippe having seen several managerial changes in recent years do little to improve matters. However, still without a win and conceding twice in each game, improvements are desperately needed.
After claiming a historic Copa Libertadores quarter final spot in Medellin during the week it depends how much Atletico have in the tank ahead of Monday's trip to Rosario. Unbeaten in the league this season, El Decano picked up their first win last week thanks to a last minute wonder strike but they would be excused for not being at their best at the Estadio Marcelo Bielsa.
Any side capable of reaching the latter stages of the Libertadores should have enough to defeat Newell's but Independiente have already found Rosario a tricky place to go and a possibly fatigued Atletico may also find things tough.
