Viktoria Plzeň vs Olympiakos Piraeus tips

This is a tough call but I will stick to a Viktoria win on this. Viktoria have been unbeaten in the league since 1st April 2018 amd that was 15 months ago. They have been very strong at home but having said this, in last season's CL group games, they beat Roma, drew with CSKA Moscow and lost to Real Madrid at home which was expected. but being able to beat Roma certainly shows their quality. They were knocked out of CL, moved to Europa League, beat Dinamo Zagreb 2-1 at home but lost 0-3 away.

On the other hand, Olympiakos have not played competitively in the past 2 months but are unbeaten in their past 8 friendlies so far. They have even beaten Jagiellonia away 5-0 in one of the friendlies. In the league, they only lost 1 away game all season which was to the champion PAOK. In the Europa League last season, Olympiakos have not been good on the road as they lost away to Dinamo Kiev, Real Betis and AC Milan. The only team they managed to beat was Dudelange.

In terms of experience, Olympiakos certainly do have a lot of Europe experience. The match up today is between a team with formidable home form vs a regular experienced Europa team.

Factors to consider:
Viktoria is solid on home ground.
Statistics points to a Viktoria win.
Knowing the fact that Olympiakos is hard to beat or even draw on their homeground, Viktoria needs to win the 1st round.
Comparing players, Olympiakos is definitely the talented side.

As I am much more of a statistics person, I'd pick Viktoria for this round.
