Cardiff City vs Tottenham Hotspur tips

Tottenham were incredible in their 6-2 away win thrashing of Everton at Goodison park on Sunday December 23rd. Kane scored twice in that match for the fourth consecutive time against Everton. Today one has to fancy Tottenham to beat a lower class side like Cardiff City.
Maybe my expectations were too high to hope for the victory of the Premier League, but you need to recover from the defeat and continue to fight for the top 3

Spurs were 1 – 3 losers at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers as Cardiff beat an in form Leicester City side and it will be interesting to see how these results play out heading to the first match of 2019 for the two sides. The loss ended Spurs’ seven – match unbeaten run and it was the first time in four matches that they scored less than two goals. They trooped to the game on five straight wins in the Premier League and though they suffered a shock loss, they still hold good class to trouble any big sides in the Premier League. Spurs have eight wins in their last 10 matches and have scored in each of the 10. They have seven wins in their last eight away league matches and they have scored two or more in five of those eight away matches. Spurs have played 11 away matches this season and lost just two, the remaining nine have ended in wins and they are the only side in the league this season not to have drawn any game. Cardiff, on their part, have picked seven points from a possible 15 in their last five matches but they will be looking more to their form at home, having managed nine points from a possible 15 and heading to this game they will be hoping to add to their tally of three wins in five home matches. Four of their five wins in the season have come at home and this will be a fact Spurs will have in mind when they make the trip. Spurs are unbeaten in seven matches against Cardiff City; they have kept five straight clean sheets in this fixture and have won each of the last four meetings. In 33 meetings, Spurs have picked 13 wins over Cardiff, and lost seven.

I was listening to Tottenham v Wolves on 5 live, but switched the commentary off at half-time thinking the home side would win. They didn't, obviously, but we should focus on the fact Spurs came into the match having won five on the spin.
Are the London club paying for not spending in the summer? I don't think so. Until Saturday they were second in the league. Of course, from Tuesday they have the chance of bringing in someone if they wish.
Mauricio Pochettino's side don't have too many negative "wow" results - they usually comfortably beat teams outside the top six, so they should win in Wales.
What Cardiff have shown this season is they can hang on in there. If they lose a couple of games it doesn't change their philosophy - they just keep going.
Manager Neil Warnock has been open and vocal about looking to bring players in, and I think they've given themselves a chance of staying up.
