Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur tips

The clash between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday 19th December will be a repeat of the North London derby a few weeks ago when Arsenal picked a 4 – 2 win. Arsenal have scored in each of their last eight matches and in five of those they have netted two goals or more but they meet Spurs, who have also scored in each of their last 11 matches and have scored two or more in seven of the 11 so I expect a very open game here.

It's a competition Arsene Wenger wasn't really too fussed about but get through this tie and Unai Emery has a fantastic opportunity of picking up a piece of silverware in his first season at the club.
I think Emery will play a few of the kids but there will be plenty of recognised names in alongside them. I expect the Gunners to include Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette but I would like to see Bukayo Saka get another go and Ainsley Maitland-Niles play in a more central position. The big issue though is centre-back where they are really struggling for numbers.
On the other hand, I'm not sure how Mauricio Pochettino will play this. The same can be said of him that he needs a trophy. The Spurs players need a trophy but are they prepared to put their neck on the line when they are going quite well in the league.
I see a few changes on either side but I expect them to both be at about 75 per cent. I can see this going all the way to be honest before the drama of a penalty shootout. However, I'll hang my hat on Arsenal.

Après la prestation de très belle facture offerte par les Gunners et les Spurs à l'occasion de leur duel en championnat, c'est en League Cup qu'ils se retrouvent pour une revanche qui s'annonce palpitante ! Si Arsenal a pris un ascendant psychologique grâce à leur succès contre les hommes de Pochettino ces derniers seront sûrement remontés à bloc pour mieux répondre à la puissance offensive de leur voisin. L'issue du résultat paraît bien incertaine, mais il est probable que les deux équipes auront chacune leurs temps forts et concrétisent leurs opportunités, surtout quand on sait les talents qui composent les deux écuries.

Distanced from the race for the title, the Gunners are still doing great things under the Cup Unai Emery and if the Spanish coach managed to bring a title through a cup this season, it would be more successful. We can assume that they will seek to get this EFL Cup, and they should overcome a team from Tottenham that has other deadlines!
